Why I Started The Sports HER

Women’s sports have always been personal to me. I’ve played my whole life — fifteen years of softball 🥎 — and I grew up in a family where sports were everything. (Don’t even get me started on who each of our favorite football teams are.)

My little sister plays basketball, my brother bounced between hockey 🏒, soccer ⚽, and football 🏈, and my parents grew up surrounded by the game. It’s part of who we are.

But even in a sports-obsessed place like New England, I noticed women’s teams weren’t getting the same coverage. Our sports culture is passionate and loud, but unless it was viral drama, women’s sports rarely made the conversation. I wanted the same energy, the same excitement, the same front-page love that men’s teams get — but for the incredible women competing right here in New England.

That’s why I built The Sports HER — to give women’s sports the platform, the respect, and the spotlight they’ve always deserved. ✨ Women’s sports are rising, and this moment feels like history in the making. I want The Sports HER to be part of that.
