đ Sun Stumble Out West: Valkyries Overwhelm Connecticut in 87-63 Loss
A rough night, but thereâs still fight in this squad.
Hey HERd đ,
Sunday night wasnât it for our Connecticut Sun. The team struggled to find rhythm against the Golden State Valkyries, falling 87-63 on the road in San Francisco.
The Valkyries came out swinging and dropped a massive 36-point second quarter, building a lead the Sun just couldnât erase. It was one of those nights where shots didnât fall, the defense looked out of sync, and it just got away from us early.
đ Quick Game Recap
Final: Connecticut Sun 63 â Golden State Valkyries 87
Sun Record: 2-12 overall | 1-6 on the road
Valkyries owned the first half and led by 27 at halftime.
Connecticut shot just 30% from the field and 29% from deep.
The Sunâs 63 points were the lowest scored against the Valkyries all season.
đ Bright Spots for the Sun
Even on a tough night, there were players who kept showing up:
Aneesah Morrow led the way with 14 points, hustling to keep the offense alive.
Jacy Sheldon added 10 points and brought some late-game energy.

đ§ HER Take
Letâs be realâthis one hurt. But hereâs what weâre seeing from the HERd sideline:
đ Offense couldnât get going. Shooting 30% just wonât cut it in this league.
đ€ Paint defense struggled. The Valkyries poured in 32 points in the paint with ease.
đ§ Mental toughness matters. Once the lead ballooned, the Sun looked shaken.
This is now a six-game losing streak. The roadâs been rough, but itâs not the end of the story. The Sun have been resilient beforeâweâre betting theyâll find a way to regroup.

Next Up
The Sun head to Las Vegas on Wednesday to take on the defending champs. Itâs going to take everything to grab a win on the road, but if this team finds their fire, anything can happen.
